A clear guide to what Passée does, what stays private, what is free, and what Plus adds.
The basics
What it is
What does Passée actually do?
Passée helps you remember the things that expire, need replacing, or should be renewed before they are past their best.
You can track beauty, health, home, food, IDs, documents, cards, payments, and renewals in one private shelf. A name and a date are enough. Photos and extra details are optional.
Why Passée
What does the name mean?
Passée means past its best. The app is built around catching the things that quietly need attention before they slip past the point where you wanted to use, replace, or renew them.
What it tracks
What can I add?
You can add everyday products, pantry items, medicine, supplements, household supplies, IDs, passports, licenses, insurance, credit cards, loans, permits, school records, and other renewals.
Different things ask for different details. A document should not feel like a bottle of cleanser, and a credit card should not ask for a full card number.
Privacy
Where data lives
Does my information go anywhere?
Your shelf lives on your device and, if you choose to sync, in your private iCloud account. TA Studio does not keep a copy of your items, photos, or shelf.
Passée does not run ads, sell your shelf, or require an account. We use privacy-safe product analytics to understand broad app health, but we do not send item names, photos, notes, prices, contacts, document details, or full card numbers.
Photos
What happens to photos?
Photos stay on your device unless you choose a Smart Photo feature. Even then, Passée sends only what is needed to fill the details of your item.
You can also use Passée without photos. For many items, a name and expiry or renewal date are enough.
Smart Photo
What is Smart Photo?
Smart Photo is an optional Plus feature that can suggest details from a photo so you do less typing. It shows a consent sheet before use, and you can keep using manual entry and simple on-device date reading without it.
Free and Plus
Free
What does the free tier include?
Free gives you the everyday shelf: up to 30 items, reminders, locations, photos or manual entry, simple on-device date reading, IDs and renewals, Buy Again, and the core Home view.
Plus
What does Plus add?
Plus is for heavier shelves and households. It adds unlimited tracking, private iCloud sync, Smart Photo, Batch Add, share cards, Full Insights, longer history, CSV import, CSV templates, and filtered export.
Plus costs $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year, with a 1-month free trial.
Export
Can I export my shelf?
Yes. Plus can export CSV files. You can export everything or narrow the export by status, category, person, or location before saving it.
For HSA/FSA records, use the CSV as an organizer and keep the documents your plan may ask for, like itemized receipts, EOBs, prescriptions, or letters of medical necessity. Passée does not decide reimbursement eligibility.
CSV files are files you choose to save or share. Passée does not send them to TA Studio.
How it works
Dates
What kinds of dates does Passée understand?
Passée can track printed expiry dates, PAO timing, opened dates, issue dates, renewal dates, billing dates, payment due dates, and custom reminder dates.
The form changes based on what you are adding, so documents, cards, medicine, food, and beauty items can each ask for the details that make sense.
Documents
How do IDs and renewals work?
IDs and renewals have their own flow for passports, licenses, cards, insurance, loans, permits, policies, registrations, and similar records.
You can save issue dates, expiry dates, issuing agency, reference numbers, location, and reminder timing. For credit cards, Passée is designed to keep only what you need for reminders, like expiry month/year and optional last four digits.
Reminders
When does Passée notify me?
Passée suggests reminder timing based on the kind of item you add. You can also set a custom reminder for a particular item when you need more control.
Reminder scheduling happens through Apple notifications. Passée does not use a server to watch your shelf.
Siri
Can I use Siri or Shortcuts?
Yes. Passée supports Apple App Intents for common actions like adding an item, checking what is expiring, finding an item, replacing something, marking an item opened, and showing the buy-again list.
